'Matt and I have been friends for years and when he asked me to help him find  local sponsorship to launch his heavyweight boxing career I could hardly refuse. We tried several local businesses but no one was forthcoming so I decided to put my total belief in Matt in the form of a 2 year sponsorship deal.'

'Matt has got to be one of the most exciting heavyweight boxers I have ever seen at any level, his fitness and determination is second to none !'

Matt Skelton started his boxing career as a Thai Boxer at the age of 20, Matt went on to win 58 of his 63 fights including six world titles at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

At the age of 32 a career as a heavyweight boxer seemed unlikely....

BUT....

When looking for suitable Thai Boxing sparring partners Matt was encouraged by RPB's Russell to attend Kevin Sanders Gym in Peterborough. A gym where Russells cousin, Monty Wright, former British and Southern Area Champ had trained for many years.

Matt went along to simply improve his hand speed skills and what was only intended as training session turned into a career changing move.

Matts phenomenal hand and foot speed so impressed Kevin Sanders that it wasnt long before he signed a management deal with Eugene Maloney which then led to a four fight contract with Frank Warrens Sky Sports Network.
